How it works

PNG, JPG or WebP. Logos, hand-drawn lettering and scans trace best.

Dark pixels become filled shapes. Slide the threshold until the preview matches the artwork, then remove specks.

Choose the real output width; nodes are simplified so the file cuts smoothly.

Why does my photo look like a blob?

Tracing is two-tone. Photos need a clear subject on a plain background; use the silhouette preset or clean the image first.

Does it trace colours?

This tool traces one colour at a time. Colour separation is on the roadmap; for now, trace each colour with different thresholds.

Is the image uploaded anywhere?

No — tracing runs entirely in your browser with Potrace compiled to WebAssembly.
